21,935,345 Views - The Greenhouse Effect Song "People ( That Won't Back down )" ( 1992 ). In late 1990 / Early 1991, The Greenhouse Effect found themselves  reduced to a "Two piece band." Guitarist Phil Keegan was gone and drummer / lead singer Clark Hagins had the audacity to "move up front" to play Guitar and sing Alongside Trusty Red Head Bassist Rick "Ted" Carmody ,.. There was no drummer though but studio songs were due to be recorded so Hagins grabbed his old Premier Drum Kit and some sticks and he and Carmody entered Accessive Light and Sound Studio in Harbor City California with Studio Engineer / Producer Andrew Houston and they proceeded to overdub their own whole album and maybe ala Genesis "And then there were three" ( even though there were only two ! ),... and the tracks that the "New" configured Greenhouse Effect would come to record would change the shape and direction of indie Rock n' roll Music ! AND FOREVER ! "Grunge" and punk rock and even "Prog" like ideas would emerge ! "There was this riff that I had been playing on my guitar for years at 251 Paseo De Gracia in Torrance ,.. that went as far back as like 1984 / 85' Circa" Says Clark THE SHARK Hagins for Rock City Blogging September 2021. "And that riff of course came to turn into this amazing song ,.. called BEN IS DEAD " !! BEN IS DEAD was a track like nothing Hagins or G.e ( or

really anybody ) had ever heard the likes of ,.. as it borrows parts from the song "Journey To The Center of your Mind" by Ted Nugent and the Ambuoy Dukes and then mixes it with the ideals of punk rock and maybe even surfing like beats ,... The lyrics weirdly seemed to mock left-wing people and the punk rock scene as the Twisted politics of Hagins seemed to be emerging on the Brand New "Going Legit" album recording sessions: "I hate liberal people,..." Says Hagins. "Its that thing about punk that I don't like !,... but I am not exactly a Right-Winger ,.. as those True Red, White, and Blue ,.. People ain't exactly my friends either ,...( Laughs ) ,.. Patriotic people are not fond of me at all ,.. and neither me of them but if I had to choose,.. I take them over Liberals and Democrats any day ,..!! ( LOL ),.. HAGINS says in 2021,..that his belief in Christ comes first before any politics ,.."I realize that me being in rock n roll is this dangerous thing and EVERYBODY WATCHES ME AND MY MUSIC NIGHTLY AND ALL AROUND THE WHOLE WORLD AND  that I am one of those souls out there that always has to tell the truth
